Small Stake Anvil

Small Old Stake Anvil

From the Frank Turley collection. This small blocky anvil is in good condition except for the slightly battered stake (or shank). Unlike better known stake anvils that are raised above their stand by the stake this one uses the stake simply to keep it on the stand.

UPDATE: We now know from Stefaan Meeus of Belgium that these are called Catalan anvils and are the popular style in Spain.
