Working in Metals by Charles C. Sleffel

book, Metal, copper, brass, silver, iron, metalwork, blacksmithing, metalsmithing, children, education, projects
NOTE
The modern blacksmiths test for hardenability is when the tool steel becomes non-magnetic or just a little above (for lowerr carbon steels). When a magnet on a wire is not attracted to the hot steel it is ready to quench. Always quench on a rising (increasing) heat, not after over heating beyond the hardenability temperature.
