ABANA 2000 JYH EVENT - RULES
The ABANA 2000 Conference is hosting the Junk Yard Hammer (JYH) event providing a time slot, space, and logistical support (power, compressed air, forklift).anvilfire.com! is sponsoring the event. Providing prizes, a web site, contests, rules and taking the heat for judging any "contests" or competitions.
All ABANA and ABANA event rules will take precidence over JYH event rules.

ABANA 2000 JUNK YARD HAMMER "MOST PHOTOGENIC" CONTEST
To win you must first BUILD a MEC-JYH or AIR-JYH then photograph it. Send the photographs or scans (no larger than 640x480, 24bit color or B&W JPEG) to anvilfire.com for publication. There will be a photo release making the images property of anvilfire.com so be sure you inform the photographer. You DO NOT have to haul your creation to Flagstaff, AZ!! Hey world! That means you guys in other parts of the world can enter this one!Deadline was March 15,NOW April 15, 2000.FIRST PRIZE is $200 US CASH! And an ABANA 2000 JYH (noname yet) contestant T-Shirt! Competition definitions. There will be FOUR (5) classes of hammer.Powered hammers. Electric, Air, Wind or Water. ABANA will provide electric and air but you will need to provide your own water and trust a higher power for wind.
- MEC-JYH, Mechanical Junk Yard Hammer
- FAB-MEC, Fabricated Mechanical Hammer (no major junk or recycled content)
- AIR-JYH, Air Junk Yard Hammer
- FAB-AIR, Sorry, no commercial hammers allowed!
- PED-JYH, Foot powered (tredle) hammers. - No kit hammers.
There's not much difference between the FAB-AIR and AIR-JYH so lets say the cylinder must be used/recycled.
WEIGHT: Hammers to be delivered to Flagstaff will need to be limited to
2,000 poundsgross at this point. If we find they will have a heavier fork lift then this limit may change.The weight linit HAS gone up. . will take a while to find it. . .jdd 4/7/2000
Please consider how your machine will be moved. If it is not on a fork-liftabel pallet or base then it should have a substantial lifting point
ELECTRICAL: Single phase power will be provided with some limits ***** All wiring will be inspected. We don't expect UL certification but all wiring will need to meet minimum standards.

- All hammers will have a machine mounted switch.
- Wiring will be 14ga or heavier except in conduits, control or motor enclosures.
- Armoured or SO (oil resistant round industrial duty cord) 3 conductor cables required.
- Wire and cable ends to be clamped or bushed at all enclosures.
- Motors and machine frame to be grounded
- Switches and enclosures will have proper covers.
- All wiring must appear to be safe having no frayed or cut insulation
