Treadle Fabrication

Bending of the flat bar ring was performed on an old hand crank tire bender with some cold work adjustments on a swage block. The jig was tack welded to the welding table springing it to the chalk line using the scrolling wrench in the photo. Bending done manually with the long end of the 1" SCHD 40 pipe for leverage.

After bending on this fixture the bend was further adjusted on an arbor press due to insufficient allowance for spring back. The chalk layout was used for cutting and welding the finished treadle. Bench and flat bar were restored to original condition at completion of job.
