   Dan Boone's Annual Pasture Party: Louisa, VA
A one day event. Lots of different demonstrations going on, tailgating and Iron in the Hat. Time, 9am and 4pm. Lunch included.

No up-front registration fee, but you MUST PRE-REGISTER BY CALLING 540-967-3267. We must limit registrations to the first 200. You can call at anytime before 9pm to leave your name, address and phone number.

Costs for the day are paid for by the Iron in the Hat, so you must bring something for this event, and be prepared to buy some tickets to help offset our expenses. We've had some really cool things in the past and look forward to many more this year. See the anvilfire NEWS coverage of this event from previous years.

There will be a spouse's program involving glass bead jewelery. You need to pre-register for this by the 15th to assure there is enough materials.

The 20th annual NOB Hammer-In will be held at historic Auglaize Village near Defiance, Ohio. Demonstrators will be Bob patrick and Clay Spencer. There will be a charcoal making demonstration on Friday evening following the anvil stew cookout. A volunteer forging competition will be Saturday evening after the banquet. This is an on site blacksmithing competition sponsored by Old Dominion Blacksmith Association with the assistance of Danny Ward owner/manager of the Eastern School of Farrier Science in Martinsville, Virginia.

Professional Master Blacksmiths and those willing to take them on will have the opportunity to show their skills in a timed event using only the very basic blacksmithing tools & supplies:

In this intensive 4 day workshop we will study heat treating, punching, drifting, tapering, drawing out, riveting, scrolls, and more. Students will forge a variety of forms using traditional techniques.

All tools, materials, and well equipped student work stations are provided. The curriculum is a series of demonstrations at the instructors anvil followed by immediate hands on work.
