At the close of the 1st Quarter of 2000: Our aggregate hits were up to an average of 22,150 per month. Total traffic has been doubling every six months. We are archiving over 400Kb of Q&A from the guru page every month. Double what it was in 1999. We now archive it every 7 days. The Slack-Tub Pub logs must be cleared every 24 hours. There are now 45 iForge demos, 14 posted this Quarter.
SPRING 2001 * We have our first 50,000 visitor month! That is a hit rate of 10 times two years ago! This means that this year we will have as many visits as in the previous 3 combined!
NOVEMBER 18, 2001 * We have our 1,000,000th visitor! That is 511,000 visitors for the year to date, 23,000 more than the cummulative visits in the prior 3 years (see prediction above)! And this was after a miserable 4 month period on the net following the spring crash of the "DOT-COMS", the 4 month slump in the economy and 9/11. Otherwise we would have had our millionth visitor in late September.

However, due to the perplexities of the Universe it is higher priced than the 1". The primary reason is demand. It costs my supplier more and he charges me more and so. . . I must charge you more. But if you MUST have 1/2" Kaowool to fit an existing space then we DO have it and you can order it by the foot, partial carton or full carton (24" x 25 feet or 300 inches). We are also making adjustments to our shipping system rate calculations. Fine tuning the system. For some reason the shipping on Anvils in America doubles. Posted part four of our Locks and Keys iForge series (padlocks) including a link to a NEW site I am working on, OldLocks.com. This site currently has links to locksmithing articles on anvilfire and two articles I wrote for OldLocks.com. One is a book review of an out of print book and the other is titled "Lock Picking for Lock Designers". Since this is a related but different subject than blacksmithing our future locksmithing articles will be hosted at that address. Posted part two of Ray Smiths series on Mesopotamia in his Notbook of Metalworking Origins. Traffic at anvilfire has taken another huge leap to over 5,000 hits/day and we will break the 2,000,000 mark much sooner than I thought (sometime tonight)! November 1, 2002 Our annual traffic rate based on October's traffic is now 1.67 Million per year and we will easily exceed 2 million per year next year. This is following the continuing trend that has had us equaling the total accumulated traffic of prior years in each sucessive year! This means that we should have a 2,000,000 visitor year in 2003! That requires a thousand more visits per day or an average of 3.8 visitors per minute. In fact we have at least 200 folks that are online here at least 8 hours a day so that number is much higher.
