HE is from Brasstown, North Carolina. His demonstration of frontier friction folders showed what an expert he is with a hammer and an anvil. These three examples are only "tips of the iceberg." The center one is a cable knife which had very close tolerances and opened remarkably smooth. space
Photos by Jim Wolfe (c) 2000 anvilfire.com Melvin Pardue's interframe folders have inlays so close that the knives looked as though they are one piece. He demonstrated not only how to do the inlay, but stressed very well the safety operation of both the under cutter and the belt sander.
